Insights, with the arithmetic shown

Burn reads your own fasting history and writes what it finds as a sentence you can check. Every insight names the figures it was calculated from.

Not a score and not a verdict. Your averages, your completions, your records and your trends, stated plainly.

How an insight reads

A sentence, then the numbers behind it

Each insight is titled, dated, and written so you can verify it against your own history rather than take it on trust.

Growth Trajectory

IMPROVING

Your average fast length since you started, the size of the change, and the lifetime totals it is drawn from. This is the insight that shows a habit forming rather than a single good week.

Strong Completion

ON TRACK

How many fasts hit their target this month, as a count and a percentage, compared against last month. Completion is the number that predicts whether a schedule is actually working for you.

Monthly Best

RECORD

Your longest fast this month, the date it happened, the stage it reached, and how it sits against last month's best and your all-time record.

Average Dipped

WORTH A LOOK

When your average drops, Burn says by how much, over how many fasts, and suggests checking whether sleep, stress or a change of schedule is behind it. It reports the dip rather than judging it.

Insights are calculated from the fasts you log. They are not a medical assessment, and Burn does not measure ketosis, autophagy, or metabolic state.

The breakdowns

Four ways to read the same history

This week against last week

Fasts, total hours, average length and how many hit target, each with the direction it moved. The fastest way to see whether this week is holding.

The week, day by day

A bar per day with the hours on it, so a gap is visible as a gap rather than hidden inside an average.

Duration distribution

Every fast you have logged sorted into short, medium, long and extended, with counts and percentages. This is where you find out what you actually do, as opposed to what you meant to do.

How you feel

Your average rating and the moods you logged most often, counted. Burn keeps how a fast felt next to how long it ran, because the two together are more useful than either alone.

Month and lifetime

Burn gets more useful the longer you use it

A single fast is a timer. Fifty of them is a pattern, and that is what these sections are for.

THIS MONTH

Progress against last month

Fasts, hours and average side by side with the previous month's figures, plus your best fast and the pace you are on for the rest of the month.

LIFETIME

Totals and records

Total fasts, longest fast, and twelve personal records kept as you set them. Twelve personal records, kept as you set them, so a bad week does not erase what you have already done.

CONSISTENCY

Streaks alongside the numbers

Your current streak sits in the same view as your averages, so consistency and length are read together rather than one standing in for the other.

What Insights is not

Arithmetic on your own data

Not AI, and not a diagnosis

Insights are computed from the fasts you have logged. They describe what your history contains, and nothing in them is a medical assessment.

Every claim carries its figures

An insight that says your average improved states both averages and the difference. You can check it, which is the point of writing them that way.

Your data stays yours

Your history is stored on your device, synchronized through iCloud if you enable it, and exportable as CSV at any time.

GUIDE

How to stick to fasting

What the numbers are actually for.

Start building the history

Insights fill in as you fast. The first week is a timer. As the fasts accumulate it becomes a pattern you can act on.
